Timotheos Zinonos

Tutor

My name is Timotheos and I currently live in Germany. I hold a B.A. degree in Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin Literature) from the University of Cyprus and a M.Sc. degree in Classics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. At my graduation from the University of Cyprus, I was awarded the “Stelios Ioannou” award for the faculty of letters student with the highest grade of the year. Since 2020 I have been working at the Secretariat of the Holy Bishopric of Limassol, dealing, among others, with Byzantine and modern ecclesiastical texts. I have also been teaching Greek and Latin to high school students, preparing them for school or university exams. Lately, I started teaching Greek to foreign students. I am really excited to teach my language to people who are ready to discover its secrets. I am especially interested in ancient Greek poetic meters (mainly the epic meter) and Historical Linguistics. My MSc dissertation was entitled “Homilia in divini corporis sepulturam: an examination of its language, style and authorship (Epiphanios of Salamis and other candidates)”. During my free time, I enjoy doing agricultural work, walking in the nature and listening to traditional music.
