Vasia Gianopoulou

Γεια! I am Vasia, and I live in Thessaloniki, a beautiful city in the north of Greece. I hold a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Education from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since my student years, I have had a significant interest in teaching the Greek language, and I have volunteered as a Greek teacher in three NGOs, working with immigrant and refugee populations. In an effort to further immerse myself in modern teaching approaches, I completed a seminar on Teaching Greek as a Foreign/Second Language. I also completed a 7-month traineeship at the Centre of Byzantine, Modern Greek and Cypriot Studies in Granada, Spain, where I had the opportunity to teach Greek to university students. Since then, I have been working as a Greek language teacher, as I have always loved the idea of teaching my native language to students from around the world. Apart from Greek, I am also fluent in English, and I have a very good level in Spanish. I believe that learning a new language opens up a door to a new culture and a deeper understanding of oneself. I enjoy getting in touch with other cultures and I am really enthusiastic about helping my students explore Greek culture through the process of learning the Greek language. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, participating in sports, and traveling to reconnect with friends who live abroad.
